We are recruiting individuals for group therapy sessions for gaming and/or internet addiction meeting in the Seattle Metro area. There are separate groups available for parents, couples and individuals. The groups will be led by Dr. Hilarie Cash, a pioneer in Internet Addiction and co-founder of Internet/Computer Addiction Services, and Anna DiNoto, a doctorate student attending Argosy University in Seattle Washington.
One group is for parents or legal guardians needing to learn how to set appropriate boundaries for children (of any age) who have become addicted to the internet and/or video games. The purposes of this group are to educate parents on the nature of addiction, to facilitate a better understanding of the limits that addicts need, and to prepare parents for potential struggles as their children go through withdrawal and learn to reconnect with reality.

Another group is for couples experiencing difficulties in communicating or relating to one another due to internet/gaming addiction. The purpose of this group is to rebuild damaged relationships by teaching individuals to identify the predictable patterns that contributed to the addiction, understand how addictive behavior(s) damage both emotional and physical intimacy, and learn the skills required to have a satisfying relationship.

The group for individuals will be divided into two sections, one for children and teens (10-15 yrs) and another of adolescents and adults (16 and up). Participants will learn how to reintegrate into reality, learn life skills which they may lack, and learn how to achieve a healthy balance between computer use and real life.

Each therapy session will cost $25.00 per individual. For more information, please contact Anna DiNoto at argosystudent@gmail.com or visit the Facebook website we have started: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=108163408218. Please feel free to join (unfortunately, you must have a Facebook account to join; my apologizes if you do not have one) and start discussions on our discussion board! Thank you, and we hope that you can join us!
